SYSTEM

Multizone Control System – MCS

The MCS control unit (code 015) is the primary unit of the 2Wires-W system. It deals with switching on, switching off and dimming up to 99 different lights areas, for a maximum of 10 A on a connection line up to 75 meters long.
MCS has different operative configurations defined by means of internal switches; it can operate:

  • autonomously (accepting up to a maximum of six buttons directly connected to the control unit);
  • driven by other 2Wires-W devices (for example: Input Module – to expand the number of physical buttons to be used; WIFI Module – to operate remotely with an iOS / Android tablet / smartphone the various functions; Radio Module – to replicate the on / off and dimmer functions, …);
  • driven by an external Home Automation system, through specific 2Wires-W gateway devices (for example: DMX Module, KNX Module, MODBUS Module …);
  • driven through the direct use of its own communication protocol.

MCS automatically recognize the 2Wires-W devices connected to its communication bus (after a reset); in case other devices are recognised, MCS will act taking into account the new identified functions. This feature allows avoiding on-site or remote software configurations at the first installation and after the insertions of new devices when the lighting system is already operative.

The device is 3 DIN module wide.

Multizone Led Driver

This device (code 077) controls in constant current the connected light point. The drivers, which are equipped with a rotary switch for the setting of the desired address, are available in 4 different current sizes (150/350/500/700 mA); other custom current sizes are feasible. The maximum number of drivers connected to a connection line is determined by the sum of the absorptions of the drivers, which must not exceed the maximum current available on the line.

The size of the driver is about 55 x 30 mm.

Power Module

This device (code 056), that can be used in both 2Wires-W and 2Wires-C systems, allows the increasing of the maximum current supplied on a connection line and / or the maximum distance between MCS and drivers. The device, connected to the MCS connection line, acquires the original command signal transmitted by the MCS, regenerating it completely; the external power is used to supply the power required by the drivers connected on its own connection line. Three different current sizes are available (10/15/20 A).

The device is 6 DIN module wide.

Input Module

This device (code 023), that can be used in both 2Wires-W and 2Wires-C systems, allows the expanding of the number of buttons used into the 2Wires system, communicating with the MCS control unit by the communication bus.

The internal switches of the device allow to determine the addresses of the connected buttons.

The device is 3 DIN module wide.

Electronic Output Module

The device (Code 034) supplies eight electronic outputs (MOSFET) allowing to drive third-party devices and/or common cathode strip led, with PWM advanced dimming functions as well.

Five current sizes are available (1/2/3/4/5 A per single output). The device is connected to MCS by communication bus. When more than one device is required, the switches inside determine the address of the device.

The device is 6 DIN module wide.

DMX/KNX/MODBUS Module

The device (code 025-DMX-W; 025-KNX-W; 025-MODBUS-W) integrates the 2Wires-W system with the main Home Automation standards, adding the advantages offered by Home Automation system to the advantages of 2Wires-W technology.

The device is connected to the MCS by the communication bus.

The device is 3 DIN module wide.

Relay Output Module

The device (code 050) supplies eight relay contacts (240 V 10 A per single relay), allowing to operate third-party devices. For example: rolling shutters; TV lift, and more.

The device is connected to MCS by communication bus. When more than one device is required, the switches inside determine the address of the devices.

The device is 6 DIN module wide.

Wi-Fi Module

By means of this device (code 074-W), an APP installed in IOs or Android O.S. can be used to execute the 2Wires-W system commands.

The device is connected to the MCS by the communication bus.

The device is 3 DIN module wide.

Auxiliary Module

The device (Code 084) detects the presence / absence of a specific signal and notifies it to the MCS by means of the communication bus.

On the base of such information, MCS performs the intended function; as example: in the absence of the main power, MCS will switch on only specific areas in order to reduce the used energy.

The device is 2 DIN module wide.

Radio Module

The device, available with the internal (Code 024) or external (Code 024S) receiving antenna, allows to replicate the MCS commands via remote control(s).

The device is connected to the MCS by the communication bus.

The device is 3 DIN module wide.

Analogue Module

The device (code 177-W) detects the values โ€‹โ€‹of four analogue inputs (2 dedicated to temperature probes;

2 dedicated to voltage probes); by means of the communication bus the device notifies the detected values to MCS, so that it can apply the programmed actions.

The device is 3 module wide.

Command Console

The device (code 176-W), consisting of 16 programmable keys and a central display, operates as a Command Console. Its functions depend on the operative program defined for every lighting system. It is possible to use several Command Consoles in the 2Wires-W system, in order to control the light points as well as the actuators.

The device is connected to MCS by the communication bus.
